I will run

The last week God is telling me more and more about His Father heart. It has been a beautiful journey so far. It all started a week ago during a course that I take, to discover my heart and everything that springs out of it. Last week we were talking about performance based living to be accepted, valued and loved, but we came to the conclusion that performance is just an act of trying to cover our shame if it is out of the wrong motives. The only hope for getting rid of the feelings of shame is by God's solution in justification; amazing grace!

Amazing grace is a gift, totally free; it’s a declaration from God. Not, ‘just as if I’d never sinned’. It’s far more than that. If only my sins would have been forgiven, that would take away all the wrong that I’ve done, but still I would be standing naked at the start line of life, with a huge race to run. That’s were justification comes in, it says “I am going to treat you as if you have already succeeded”. Isn’t that a beautiful picture? You, in the midst of your life with everything going on around you, standing at the finishing line with your arms lifted up high…in victory. Your race is already won!

He looks at you as if you have already succeeded..

No more striving. No more comparing. No more failing.

The best part is yet to come. In worship Jesus spoke to me again. I was standing at the finish line with my arms raised up in victory, when Jesus said: ‘I ran your race, so that you can run the race for others’.

I will run for the poor, I will run for the widows, I will run for the orphans, I will run for the captives, I will run.
